Michael Olunga eyeing FIFA club world cup glory

 Harambee stars striker Michael 'Engineer' Olunga is eyeing the FIFA club world cup glory this year weeks after joining Qatar side Al Duhali. The Harambee stars talisman won the Japanese J League golden boot last season has already netted three times in three outings for his new club AL Duhali.

The FIFA club world cup is an international club football tournament between the winners of the six continental confederations, as well as the host nation's league champions.

The 2020 FIFA Club World Cup was postponed from December last year to February to this year as a result of Covid-19 and its's going to be the 17th edition.

So far, German side Bayern Munich and Brazilian side Palmeiras have qualified for the semi-finals awaiting for their to be determined. Olungas side AL Duhali booked their spot in the quarterfinals against Eqyptian qiants AL Ahly after  Auckland City of New Zealand withdrew.

The second quarter- final shall witness Mexican side Tigres face South Korea's Ulsan Fc. Semi final matches will take place on 7th and 8th of February with the final being held on 11th of February.

Asieche Joins Wazito from Sofapaka.

 Wazito Fc has confrimed the signing of former Sofapaka captain Eli Asieche for a long term deal.

"Wazito FC is elated to announce the signing of Eli Asieche on a long-term deal.Asieche, an attacking midfielder joins from Sofapaka and is expected to boost our midfielder department," Wazito's press statement said.

“Wazito was an easy choice because it is a team with a good structure. I also have friends in the team and I felt that it would help me settle easily. I am here to create and score goals for the team. I am also excited to work with coach Francis Kimanzi who understands me and I will give my best in Wazito colors,” Asieche said.

Wazito Fc coach, Francis Kimanzi has praised the former KCB and Kariobangi sharks midfielder saying, “Asieche is a great an attacking midfielder and is expected to boost our midfielder department especially with his premier league experience."

Why the relationship between Ruto and Uhuru is Over

 The political fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto has hit rock-bottom, casting doubt if the two will ever sit together again in the Cabinet.

What started as mere differences of opinion have snowballed into a full blown political war that has strained the relationship between the country's top two leaders. 

With the Ruto axis openly accusing Uhuru of having ruined the country's economy, the President appears to have decided to seal his legacy without Ruto's involvement. On Tuesday, Uhuru dispatched several Cabinet Secretaries to inspect development projects across the city. 

For nearly two years, the President and his deputy never engaged directly in public even as their allies traded barbs.

Ruto would instead attack Uhuru's handshake partner Raila Odinga and Jubilee Party officials for troubles roiling the ruling party.

However, the gloves are now off, especially after the President gave the clearest indication that he would not support Ruto for the country's top job and may in fact campaign against him 

On January 9, Uhuru said the Mt Kenya and the Kalenjin communities have produced the country’s four presidents since Independence and should pave the way for other communities. 

This knocks off Ruto from Uhuru's the succession matrix.Since then, Ruto and his troops have gone  bare-knuckled, leaving little doubt that they will oppose the proposed Building Bridges Initiative referendum.

Ruto, for instance, now says some of the BBI proposals are populist, attacking its key planks that Uhuru and Raila have been marketing.

Sofapaka complete Timothy Otieno Move

 Sofapaka have moved to acquire the services of Kenya international Timothy Otieno on a two-year contract.

The former Tusker player was a free agent after being released by Zambian Super League side Napsa Stars a week ago.

Batoto ba Mungu have confirmed the arrival of the player on their official website by stating: “KPL 2019-20 top scorer Timothy Otieno has joined Sofapaka from Zambian side Napsa Stars and he will be unveiled in the course of this week.”

Cristiano Ronaldo hits 760 milestone as Juve win coppa italia

 Cristiano Ronaldo hit the 760th goal of his career - earning a possible world record to help Juventus win 2-0 aganist Napoli.

The Portugal forward volleyed a close-range opener, and substitute Alvaro Morata sealed victory in injury time seconds after a brilliant save from Juve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Ronaldo's goal may have seen him overtake a disputed total from Josef Bican to become the highest scorer of all time.

Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne missed a penalty with 10 minutes left, before Italian champions Juve - who are fifth in Serie A after Sunday's 2-0 loss to Inter Milan - confirmed their ninth Super Cup win.

"It is a great joy to win a trophy," Pirlo told Rai Sport.

"It is even more beautiful than winning as a player. It is difficult to see beautiful finals. It was important to win above all after the defeat against Inter. We had to show our pride."
