On this day in 2018 Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United produced
unbelievable Comeback at Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City took a
2-0 first half lead. The yet to be Champions produced a first half masterclass leading
to early goals from Ikay Gundogan and that Monster header from Vincent Kompany.
Raheem Sterling missed an open net taping to give Guardiola’s Manchester City a
3-0 lead at half time.
However, things turned on for the red side of Manchester
in the second half when an unmarked Paul Pogba pulled one back in the 51st
minute before levelling the score line 4 minutes later. Manchester City’s
defence collapsed and left Chris Smalling with the chance to give the Red Devils
the chance to give Manchester United the lead. A cool header was all that was
need and Smalling delivered it in style.
